Starting today, Radius Indiana is conducting its biennial Wages and Benefits survey for employers across the region, with incentives.
In exchange for taking part in the survey and providing information on the wages and benefits they offer, employers receive an extensive report analyzing the data— and if they complete it in the first two weeks, they will be entered to win a gift card.
The survey allows participating businesses to compare their offerings with others across the region, plus against state and national wages.
“It gives a good number and it gives a good data set to sit back and reflect as an employer in the region and really take a look internally to see where they’re at,” Dubois Strong Executive Director Colten Pipenger said. “That insight I think is invaluable.”
Pipenger said the data provided by the Wages and Benefits Survey can be hard to get through traditional census data or talent insight reports from paid programming. This data directly from region employers is a rare opportunity.
“We have offices in San Diego, in Virgina and Florida and none of those areas really provide us that kind of data that Radius does and this survey provides,” Tristar CEO Vince Carlos Gaitani said.
With a location in Bedford, plus a Crane Division Office at Westgate Facility, Tristar has participated in the Wages and Benefits survey each time it has been sent to them. Gaitani believes taking it is essential.
He encourages everyone to take the time and fill out the survey because it is not a typical survey– it offers critical information about what businesses in the region are doing and experiencing.
“The information that’s being asked in the survey directly relates to everybody’s business, even if you’re in an industry that maybe doesn’t align with some of the questions, it’s still important to understand what’s happening in the community around you,” Gaitani said. “I think it’s important because you are providing.”
By completing the survey, other participants have a more robust idea of what is happening in the area.
“It’s a data point and without participation, we don’t have that data point,” Gaitani said.
This year, there will be two survey types businesses can choose to take.
One is a longer, full survey focused on not only wages, but also, details of benefits. Sitting at approximately 60 questions long, the survey will go in-depth on health, vision and dental insurance benefits.
“That can be very valuable for these businesses as they’re trying to figure out how to recruit and retain employees,” Radius Indiana Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator Anne McCombe said.
The other survey option is a shorter version that won’t cover as many details on benefit packages available to employees. Those who want to take the survey can access the full version here and the shortened here.
If employers complete the survey by September 22, they will be entered into drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card.
The Wages and Benefits Survey will be open for about a month and is scheduled to close on October 6.
