PAOLI – The Orange County Economic Development Partnership, in collaboration with The Mill and Ivy Tech Community College, announced the graduation of six students from Code/IT Academy’s CompTIA A+ cohort in Orange County.
This program is part of a larger workforce development initiative designed to strengthen the talent pool in Indiana’s Uplands region. Orange County had the highest percentage of Code/IT students qualify for CompTIA A+ exam vouchers in the entire region. Students that completed the 10-week training included Corrinna Long and Carliss Stennett, who both completed their second Code/IT course, as well as Joshua Frank, Bethany Howard, Clayton Weisenberger and Stephen Waynick.
Code/IT Academy, a partnership between Regional Opportunity Initiatives, The Mill and Ivy Tech Bloomington, spans eight Upland counties and offers training in four high-demand technical pathways: cloud computing, cybersecurity, web development, and project management. Code/IT Academy empowers individuals in the Uplands region to build meaningful and profitable careers in tech through flexible, pathway-based education.
“OCEDP is proud of our Code/IT Academy graduates and their dedication to mastering new skills and putting in the work both during class and when completing homework assignments, all while managing jobs and family obligations,” said Skylar Whiteman, executive director of the Orange County Economic Development Partnership. “Partnering with other organizations to provide these opportunities exemplifies our commitment to creating a more competitive workforce and empowering local residents with the skills needed to advance and succeed in the growing tech sector.”
