Companies in Washington, Bedford make 2025 Best Places to Work rankings

Southern Indiana Business Report

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced the rankings for its Best Places to Work in Indiana companies Wednesday. Four companies from the Radius Indiana region made the list.

Three companies from Washington were ranked, including TrueScripts, ranked No. 3 in the medium category; Belt Tech Industrial, No. 28 in the medium category; and True Rx Health Strategists No. 7 in the large employer category.

TrueScripts, a pharmacy benefit manager, has made the list six straight years, including three years at No. 1.

The company posted on social media, “We’re deeply honored by this recognition – it’s a true testament to the amazing culture we’ve built together and the team members who bring it to life every single day. As an ESOP company, our people are the owners, the culture, and the reason behind our success. It’s their passion, commitment, and heart that make TrueScripts not just a great place to work – but a great place to belong.”

JA Benefits LLC of Bedford came in at No. 2 in the small employer category. JA Benefits is an employee benefit firm and previously was ranked No. 1 in its category five years running.

Rankings were revealed in five categories at the awards dinner, held at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. The theme of this year’s celebration was Unveiling Excellence.

Companies that received a No. 1 ranking:

  • Safety Resources, Inc., an Indianapolis-based workplace safety consulting and training solutions company – small category (between 15 and 34 U.S. employees)
  • Ultimate Technologies Group, an IT services and consulting company in Fishers – small-medium category (between 35 and 74 U.S. employees)
  • United Consulting, an engineering, surveying, planning and inspection company in Indianapolis – medium category (between 75 and 249 U.S. employees)
  • McGohan Brabender, an Indianapolis-based benefits broker – large category (between 250 and 999 U.S. employees)
  • ARCO Design/Build, a national design/build construction firm with a location in Indianapolis – major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees)

ARCO repeats as the major category champion, while the other companies ascend to their respective top spots for the first time. This was also the first year for the small-medium category.

“We are thrilled to recognize a record 150 Hoosier employers that are making their employees a priority. It’s energizing to be able to share how each are innovating and authentically building cultures to enhance the lives of their team members,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders. “Learning about the amenities, open communication and comprehensive care they have for their employees is so encouraging and sets an example of what can be done.”

Winning organizations represent more than 30 cities and towns, with multiple honorees coming from Bloomington, Carmel, Evansville, Fishers, Granger, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville, Kokomo, Marion, Noblesville, South Bend and Washington. In addition, several businesses have multiple Indiana locations.

This year’s winners include companies with Hoosier employee counts (at the time of application) ranging from 15 to over 1,300. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana. Two companies – Edward Jones and KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller) – have received the honor in all 20 years of the program’s history.

Carmel-based Shepherd Insurance ranked No. 9 in the large category. Shepherd has a partnership with Parker Group in Bedford.

Honorees and rankings were determined through employer reports and a comprehensive, anonymous employee survey. The Workforce Research Group handled the selection process.

All companies that participated in the 2025 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.

In addition to the April 30 awards, winners are recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice® magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. Additional program partners are HR Indiana SHRM, Institute for Workforce Excellence, Wellness Council of Indiana and Workforce Research Group.
