BEDFORD – The 2025 BuyIN Expo, scheduled for April 1 at the French Lick Resort Event Center, has been postponed indefinitely.
The Bedford Chamber of Commerce announced the decision Thursday after being informed by Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane that a current review of Department of Defense spending has led to a pause on travel and spending for federal employees.
The BuyIN Expo is an annual event that facilitates connections between businesses and the federal government. Upwards of 200 companies attend each year along with 400 NSWC Crane employees. Vendors from 22 states had registered so far.
In a letter to registered businesses and participants, the Bedford Chamber, this year’s BuyIN host chamber, issued the following statement.
“The ecosystem created through these connections with NSWC Crane continues to be a driver of commerce locally and nationally, and we are sincerely grateful for your role in that. Considering this, we must unfortunately communicate to you information handed down to us from NSWC Crane earlier today: BuyIN has been postponed indefinitely at this time while the Department of Defense (DoD) conducts a review to ensure efficiency and impactful spending of taxpayer dollars in alignment with administration priorities. This review means all DoD spending and travel has been paused for the duration of this review. For this reason, we cannot move forward with hosting the Expo until the review has concluded.”
The chamber has notified registered vendors that their booth fees will be refunded.
