The Indiana Manufacturers Association has named Andrew Berger as its new president and chief executive officer. Berger will replace Brian Burton, who announced his retirement plans earlier this year.
Berger has served as a lobbyist at the IMA for the past 10 years and was most recently the senior vice president of governmental affairs. He will begin as the new IMA president and CEO Jan. 1, 2025.
A graduate of Hanover College, he received his law degree from Indiana University – Indianapolis.
Berger previously served as Legislative Director at the Association of Indiana Counties from 2007 to 2014. The 2025 legislative session of the Indiana General Assembly will be Andrew’s 18th session as a lobbyist.

After completing a thorough search process, the IMA Executive Committee determined Andrew possessed the background, skills and vision to lead the IMA into the next phase of its 100-plus year service to the Indiana manufacturing community,” said Angie Holt, IMA Board of Directors chairperson, in a press release. “Andrew has the experience and connections needed to effectively serve the evolving needs of our industry.”
Holt thanked Burton for his work with IMA the past 25 years.
“Brian has played a crucial role in improving Indiana’s business climate, thus making Indiana the number one manufacturing state in the country,” she said.
“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the IMA,” Berger said. “Our association has an impressive track record, a strong team, and an important mission to support Indiana manufacturing. I look forward to serving our members and helping them grow Indiana’s manufacturing economy.”
