INDIANAPOLIS — JA Benefits LLC of Bedford and TrueScripts of Washington earned top honors among firms their size in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Best Places to Work in Indiana ranking. The organization honored 125 companies from across the state May 12 at during a dinner celebration at the Indiana Convention Center, sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College.
The Bedford-based employee benefits company earned first place among small companies (15-74 United States employees), and 2022 marks the fourth year in a row JA Benefits has claimed the honor.
New this year were TrueScripts in the medium category (75-249 U.S. employees), CAPTRUST of Chesterton in the large category (250-999 U.S. employees), and Jackson Lewis P.C. of Indianapolis in the major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees).
“For our top winners, I’m so pleased to see a small business like JA Benefits consistently engage its employees and put them first,” Indiana Chamber President CEO Kevin Brinegar said. “The way the other three leading companies have used survey results in the program to keep improving and ascending is also so impressive. Leveraging this contest to enhance the workplace is really what the program has always been about and why we encourage organizations to take part.”
For 2022, the selected honorees represented more than 35 cities and towns across the state. Out-of-state parent companies were eligible to participate if at least 15 full-time employees are in Indiana.
Organizations that have displayed sustained excellence during the program’s history are also awarded a Best Places to Work in Indiana Hall of Fame designation. These companies have been named a Best Place to Work in Indiana at least 60% of the time in the program’s history. Two companies – Edward Jones and Katz, Sapper & Miller – have made the Best Places to Work list all 17 years of the program.
All companies that participated in the 2022 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.
In addition to the awards, winners will be recognized via a special section of the Indiana Chamber’s BizVoice magazine and through Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick – both of which reach statewide audiences. Additional program partners are HR Indiana SHRM, Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Wellness Council of Indiana and Workforce Research Group.
