JASPER – The City of Jasper invites residents, business owners and community stakeholders to attend a public open house to review the progress and draft outcomes of the city’s new comprehensive plan.
The open house will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the River Centre, Door 9.
This event marks a major milestone in the city’s 14-month comprehensive planning process, which began in early 2025 and included extensive community engagement, visioning sessions and strategic planning efforts.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Review the draft comprehensive plan
- Learn about the planning process and community input gathered to date
- Explore Strategic Pillars, goals, and recommended actions
- View the Future Land Use Map and Character Areas
- Ask questions and provide feedback
- Sign up to help implement key initiatives moving forward
The event will include a formal presentation at 9 a.m., followed by interactive open house stations where participants can engage directly with project materials and planning team members.
The comprehensive plan serves as a roadmap for Jasper’s future, guiding decisions related to growth, land use, infrastructure, economic development, and quality of life over the next decade.
Past projects identified by the city’s previous comprehensive plans and completed include the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, the city’s new pool, the Jasper Aquatic Center, which opened this summer and shattered previous city pool attendance records, and downtown revitalization and infrastructure replacement.
“This Open House is an opportunity for the community to see how their input has shaped the future of Jasper,” said Josh Gunselman, director of Community Development & Planning. “We encourage everyone to attend, learn more about the plan, and be part of the next phase – implementation.”
While registration is not required, residents are encouraged to sign up in advance to assist with planning. Additional information and registration details are available through the project portal: https://lab2.future-iq.com/jasper-comp-plan/
