WASHINGTON – The Daviess County Chamber of Commerce has new leadership following the announcement of Daniel Cullen as executive director.
Cullen is a native of Washington and has been in the role about one month.
“The Chamber should be a strong partner for local businesses. My goal is to ensure our members receive real support, meaningful benefits, and opportunities that help them grow,” Cullen said.
Cullen brings firsthand experience as a business owner and community leader. In addition to his work in economic development, he continues to perform nationally and internationally as a professional mentalist and magician, a career spanning more than 25 years. He and his wife, Carol, also owned Aces Restaurant & Bar in Washington for seven years, where they built strong community relationships and hosted numerous local events.
Cullen said Chamber members can expect to see some positive changes coming to Chamber benefits. He’s also exploring adding benefits the Indiana Chamber of Commerce offers to local Chambers.
“It’s going to be a year of rebuilding, establishing relationships and getting things on track,” he said. “I want to make the Chamber relevant again and something people want to be a part of. I don’t think people are aware of what all a Chamber of Commerce can do for them.”
As executive director, Cullen will manage the day-to-day operations of the Chamber, work directly with member businesses, help grow partnerships, and collaborate with local leaders to support economic growth across the county.
“Daniel is a well-known member of the community and has first-hand knowledge of running a small business, in addition to being a Chamber member. We are excited to see the positive impact he’ll have interacting with our current and future Chamber members,” said Angie Steiner, board president of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce.
Upcoming Chamber event
The Chamber will host the State of Daviess County at the Chamber’s Quarterly Legislative Luncheon March 18 at Gasthof Amish Village. Community members are invited to learn about legislative updates and the future of Daviess County.
