New commercial kitchen opens doors for food startups in Vincennes

Southern Indiana Business Report

VINCENNES – A new commercial kitchen that can be used by food entrepreneurs or existing food businesses is now open at the Pantheon in Vincennes.

A ribbon cutting Tuesday marked the completion of the project that will make it easier for those looking to start a food-based business.

Kimberly Fourman, director of programming and development for the Pantheon, said many food start-ups can’t afford to construct a commercial kitchen space of their own. In an interview with WTWO, Fourman said the Pantheon’s new kitchen removes that barrier. Individuals can reserve and rent space hourly in the kitchen similarly to the rental of Pantheon conference rooms.

Fourman explained the need for a commercial space was sparked by a conversation with the Knox County Health Department.

The kitchen is an ideal space for someone looking to start a restaurant, food truck, catering business or bakery.

Pricing structure applies to Pantheon members and nonmembers.

The Pantheon opened in 2020 after a renovation of the Pantheon Theatre. In addition to the new kitchen space, The Pantheon offers open working spaces, private offices, conference rooms and event space.
