PIER Group a finalist for 2026 Tech Company of the Year

TechPoint has unveiled the list of finalists for the 2026 Mira Awards, which honor the best companies, start-ups and people working in tech in Indiana. 

One company in the Radius Indiana region and a nonprofit advancing the economic prosperity of counties in the Indiana Uplands were named as finalists. 

PIER Group, a Jasper-based IT firm, is a finalist in the category of Tech Company of the Year. PIER Group provides IT solutions and cybersecurity to universities. It has provided large-scale upgrades to universities such as Notre Dame, the University of Maryland, UCLA, Indiana University and many others.

The company has been on a roll of late, garnering honors and recognition for its work. In October, PIER Group was honored with the 2025 Triple Crown Award from CRN, a brand of The Channel Company. This month, PIER Group was featured as a top 10 leading HPE partner to watch in 2025-26 by CIOCoverage. PIER Group has built networks that power supercomputing and has upgraded WiFi networks on sprawling college campuses. Led by CEO Amy Williams, the company is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise. 

Regional Opportunity Initiatives Inc. is based in Bloomington. ROI works with 11 counties in the Indiana Uplands, including the Radius counties of Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington. ROI has 10 programs focused on education and workforce and six quality of place programs.

In 2025, it committed $4 million in READI funds to projects that improve access to housing, childcare and healthcare.

The Indianapolis-based growth initiative for Indiana’s tech sector says the 106 finalists come from throughout the state, representing every major industry, including manufacturing, life sciences and agbioscience.

The nominees were selected by a team of independent judges from more than 230 submissions.

“Each year, the Mira Awards reveal just how powerful and dynamic Indiana’s tech ecosystem has become,” TechPoint CEO Ting Gootee said in a news release. “These finalists embody the ingenuity, resilience, and collaborative spirit that continue to position our state as a national leader in digital innovation.”
