Salem 3D printing business wins Monon South pitch competition

Southern Indiana Business Report

BEDFORD — The Monon South Small Business Pitch Competition has selected Dalton Morris with Next Level Industries, a 3D concrete printing business in Salem, as the winner of its competition. With his startup funding, Morris plans to print water fountains, benches and more assets suitable for use along the trail.

The Monon South Small Business Pitch Competition, held by Radius Indiana and The Monon South Trail, sought to help local entrepreneurs kickstart businesses along or adjacent to the Monon South Trail. In this way, businesses in southern Indiana could capitalize on the projected increase in visitors and economic benefits of the trail, using it to their community’s benefit.

Since the idea of a pitch competition can be new to some, Radius partnered with Gener8tor to host a webinar on “How to give a Pitch,” describing the process and providing entrepreneurs with a sample pitch deck.

“It is clear that many in our southern Indiana communities have passionate business ideas,” said Blaine Parker, director of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Support for Radius Indiana. Parker, who helped run the Monon South Pitch Competition, went on to say, “From cafes to electric bike rentals, we were thrilled to see so many trailside business ideas, and we hope to continue to encourage and support those with trailside businesses in the future, potentially putting on additional Trailside Business Pitch Competitions.”

After being selected as the winner of the pitch competition Oct. 1, Next Level Industries founder Dalton Morris is working on assembling a large scale 3D printer. He is also working alongside Heidelberg Materials – a cement supplier – to create a unique concrete mix to use in 3D printing.
