Historic Shoals River District launches community survey to gather input on future of downtown

Southern Indiana Business District

SHOALS – The Historic Shoals River District (HSRD) has launched a new community survey to gather feedback from residents, business owners and supporters on how to shape the future of downtown Shoals. The short, 10-question survey is now available on the HSRD Facebook page and can be accessed online or by scanning a QR code provided with this announcement.

The survey invites community members to share what they love about Shoals, what challenges they see, and what kinds of improvements, events or businesses they’d like to see in the future. It also offers an opportunity to express interest in volunteering or getting more involved with HSRD projects.

“This is a chance for the people of Shoals to have a voice in the future of our town,” said Grant Sherfick, president of HSRD. “Whether you’re a lifelong resident or someone who simply loves our community, we want your input.”

The survey was developed to support the organization’s growing efforts to revitalize downtown Shoals, support local businesses, and foster a stronger sense of place and community.

The survey can be accessed here, or by visiting the Historic Shoals River District Facebook page.

A QR code is also included below for convenience and may be scanned using any smartphone.

The Historic Shoals River District is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization focused on revitalizing the heart of Shoals through beautification, local events, economic development and business support. The organization was approved to join the Indiana Main Street program in the spring of 2024.
