Harvest Health & Rehab expands to larger location in Bedford

Carol Johnson, Southern Indiana Business Report

BEDFORD – Five years after opening its first therapy center in Bedford, Harvest Health & Rehab has moved to a new, larger location on John Williams Boulevard, just west of the previous facility.

“We were outgrowing our location and didn’t want to stop that growth,” said Steven Burch, Harvest Health & Rehab co-owner. “We identified that spot close to our current location and it seemed like the best location.”

At 7,000 square feet, the new location nearly doubles the size of the previous facility.

Burch, Harvest Health CEO, jointly owns Harvest Health & Rehab with his sister Erin Burns, COO and a speech language pathologist. They built out the space an additional 4,500 square feet that is available for lease.

“We’re excited to see what potential is there for other businesses to grow in that market,” Burch said. “There’s room for up to two additional tenants. It’s a high traffic area and given the size of the property, it didn’t make sense to just build our facility when there was room for more.”

The Bedford location offers speech, occupational and physical therapy. Pediatric patients  will have a designated space, something Burch and Burns are excited to offer to patients.

Currently, the Bedford facility has 13 employees; Burch expects that to increase to 18 to 20 as the new location is able to see more patients.

Burch credits the staff of providers with growing the center.

“The growth in Bedford has really been because of the team we have there. They provide amazing care to the community,” Burch said. “I can’t say enough about the team and quality of care they pour into their patients and that’s what has driven the growth.”

Burch said the Bedford location will be one of the largest therapy clinics in southern Indiana.

“For the industry we’re in, it’s pretty impressive,” he said. “For the size of the town, the fact we’re able to support that large of a facility is a testament to the team and support of the community.”

Harvest Health & Rehab sees patients needing therapy for all types of health issues, including but not limited to back pain, pelvic floor therapy, concussion rehab and following joint replacement.

Burch and Burns opened their first Harvest Health & Rehab in Loogootee nine years ago and added a Jasper location about 18 months ago.

Next up for Harvest Health & Rehab is construction of a corporate office in downtown Loogootee. Burch said he anticipates work will be complete in February.
