PIKE COUNTY – Pike County EDC Executive Director and Southwest Indiana Development Council President Ashley Willis attended the 2025 Transatlantic Business & Investment Council Conference this week in Chicago.
SWIDC is a member of the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council, which is a membership organization for local and regional U.S. Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) to market themselves to potential investors from Europe by means of an extensive membership network as well as events designed to connect EDOs with potential investors and multipliers from Europe.
In 2025, the conference was held for the first time in Chicago, Illinois, and brought together more than 100 attendees for a full day of networking, expert panels and hands-on strategy sessions.
SWIDC attended the TBIC annual Transatlantic Business & Investment Conference as a key opportunity to showcase the region to international investors, site selectors, and fellow EDOs.
“Our southwest Indiana region has a lot to offer new business and industry. We have a heritage of working with European companies and this is an important part of business attraction. Strong relations with our European FDI partners are critical to success in economic development.,” Willis said.
The TBIC Community & Corporate Member network offers a unique opportunity to become part of a dynamic and strong platform of U.S. communities in Europe. Willis said membership offers many benefits to the SWIDC counties.
“The main reasons for your membership are a stronger exposure in Europe through your listing in the TBIC Membership Directory and on our website, access to project information through our FDI & RFI mailing list and easy access to various site selection consultants on our Advisory Council, and access to all TBIC events to actively connect and meet with potential investors,” she said.
Throughout the year, TBIC hosts webinars, member meetups, and inbound delegations from Europe, offering additional visibility for member communities.
