WEST BADEN SPRINGS – Following months of preparation and construction, the new splash pad is now open in the West Baden Springs Community Park.

The West Baden Springs Town Council announced the long-awaited opening of the new splash pad last week. The splash pad opened to the public Aug. 16.

The splash pad is the latest addition in a series of major improvements at the park, championed by the West Baden Springs Town Council and the Citizens for Park Improvement and Community Wellness. Enhancements funded in part through a $247,000 Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) 1.0 grant awarded by the Indiana Uplands READI steering committee and Regional Opportunity Initiatives include multi-use trails, new playground equipment, an ADA-accessible concession stand, upgraded lighting, accessible sidewalks and flood mitigation measures, reads a press release from the town. Pickleball courts and tennis courts were also added. Together, these upgrades are transforming the park into a vibrant, inclusive space for residents and visitors alike.

While construction continues in other areas of the park, the Town Council wanted to ensure families had the opportunity to enjoy this exciting new feature before the summer season comes to a close.

“We are thrilled to finally open the Splash Pad and give kids and families the chance to enjoy it this summer,” said members of the Town Council. “This is just the beginning of the improvements planned for the park, and we can’t wait to see the community making memories here for years to come.”

The council asks all guests to help take care of the splash pad and equipment to ensure it remains a fun, safe attraction for years ahead.

The town of West Baden Springs has additional plans for the splash pad area, including seating, shaded areas and a water dump bucket feature, anticipated for the 2026 season. In the meantime, families are encouraged to bring their own chairs and shade for comfort while enjoying the splash pad.

The Town Council extends its gratitude to the community for their patience throughout the construction process and looks forward to welcoming everyone to the park.
