BEDFORD – Small businesses will have a chance to network with industry representatives in the defense technology space at an upcoming Defense Technology, Small Business Expo and Job Fair Aug. 12 at the Historic Indiana Limestone Company, 405 I St., in Bedford.
Sponsored by EWA and Sigma Defense, the event will take place from 9 a.m to 3 p.m in the Capitol Ballroom
Other event partners are the Crane Regional Defense Group (CRDG), Defense Innovation Networking Group (D!NG), and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. Kaylee Diamond, NSWC Crane deputy for small business, will deliver keynote remarks to open the event.
“The focus of this expo is to give smaller businesses an opportunity to have 10 minutes each to present their capabilities to an audience very similar to a Crane Connect 2 Mission event,” said Robert Lanham, Sigma Defense planner / analyst. “Our 20 10-minute presentation slots for small businesses and 10 vendor tables for large and established businesses are full, but we are accepting other candidates for a waitlist in case we’d have a late cancellation.”
The event will also display posters with QR codes that will enable all attendees to access every participant’s website and capabilities.
Lanham said large businesses and government personnel from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane will have a separate area designated for the job fair.
“This will be an excellent opportunity to stay connected during the 5-month gap between C2M events,” Lanham said.
C2M is an ongoing series hosted by CRDG to highlight departments at NSWC Crane. The sessions provide insight and understanding into the needs of Crane’s mission areas as well as opportunities for collaboration and networking.
The Aug. 12 expo is fully sponsored by EWA/Sigma Defense and there is no cost to participants or attendees.
