BEDFORD – The new Culver’s restaurant in Bedford hadn’t yet opened its doors when a line of customers formed outside to be the first to get their hands on the chain’s famous Butter Burgers and frozen custard.
Over the next seven days, customers flocked to the new restaurant on John Williams Boulevard, nearly setting a record for a first-week opening.
The Bedford Culver’s generated the second highest sales for an opening week in Culver’s history, according to Sarah Falkenthal, marketing manager for Meyer Foods Management. The Bedford Culver’s is owned by Scott Laskowski in partnership with Meyer Foods Management.
In a social media post, Laskowski said that despite barely missing the all-time record, the Bedford Culver’s did set the daily sales record on Friday, May 30.

“In the over 40 years Culver’s has been in business, nobody has done more sales in a day than the Culver’s here in Bedford!!! Truly amazing, thank you all so much!!!” he said in his post.
Nationwide there are 1,024 Culver’s locations. The chain is based in Wisconsin and is known for its friendly service, cheese curds and quality ButterBurgers prepared fresh.
The Bedford location opened May 26 to much anticipation. Laskowski thanked the Bedford community for its support during the opening week.
“My team and I are extremely grateful for all the love and support you showed during our opening week last week! The team gave it their all and tried as hard as they possibly could to make sure you all enjoyed your visits. The team had 6 days to prepare for the opening and they did an amazing job and made me extremely proud of the incredible team we have,” he said. “While we will continue to improve and work on our opportunities, we can’t thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We are so happy to finally be here in Bedford.”
Meyer Food Management owns 34 Culver’s, Scott Laskowski owns two and the Laskowski family owns four Culver’s.
Culver’s is one of the most popular food chains. According to QSR magazine, in a consumer study carried out in 2018 by Market Force Information, Culver’s was the second overall favorite fast food chain in the U.S.
