Radius Indiana unveils new office in downtown Bedford

BEDFORD – Radius Indiana unveiled its new offices in downtown Bedford Wednesday during a ribbon-cutting and open house.

Radius Indiana purchased the former Times-Mail building at 813 16th St. in 2024. Following six weeks of interior renovations on the west side of the building, the Radius staff moved into their new offices earlier this year.

Bedford Mayor Sam Craig and Radius Indiana CEO and President Jeff Quyle spoke to a gathering of nearly 50 people that included Bedford city officials and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce staff and membership.

“This is a great thing for the city of Bedford and I’m very proud and honored that Radius picked Bedford for their office,” Craig said.

“We appreciate seeing such a great turnout today,” Quyle said. “This building is a legacy and a tribute to what the newspaper was as an institution in this community for decades. It was a part of the heartbeat the way that news and information tied the community together.”

Radius previously was located on the Bedford square at 1514 I St. Quyle said when the organization began looking for new office space, staying in the downtown area was a priority. The Times-Mail building closed in 2023 and was listed for sale by building owner Gannett.

“When we had the chance to move in here and restore the building, bring life back to it, we were delighted to do that,” Quyle said. “We feel as Radius that economic development has to include the downtowns, the small businesses, the Main Streets – that’s really the vitality of small towns in southern Indiana.”

Building tours were offered to the public and several former employees of the Times-Mail returned to see their former workplace.

“It was a bit of a strange ‘homecoming’ to return to the building, knowing changes have been made. But it was good to see it with a fresh look and such an inviting atmosphere,” said Roger Moon, retired writer and columnist for the Times-Mail. “It was clear to me that Radius Indiana genuinely values the building and the important role the newspaper once played in the community’s history. I came away knowing the Radius staff will bring the professionalism and commitment to the community that existed within those walls during the many years when the building housed the newspaper. I’m happy to see the building with a new life.”

The renovated space includes a large reception area, conference room and kitchen. New carpeting and flooring was installed as was LED lighting. The building also received a new roof, HVAC and electrical upgrades.

The building has an additional 17,000 square feet of space that is suitable for warehouse storage, office space, retail or light manufacturing.  To inquire about the available space, contact Jeff Quyle at Radius, 812-277-9778.
