Deadline is April 10 to apply for Martin County downtown facade grant

Southern Indiana Business Report

LOOGOOTEE – Building owners in the downtown areas of Crane, Loogootee and Shoals can apply for funds to help make facade improvements through the Quick Impact Façade Grant program. Owners have until April 10 to submit an application.

The collaborative initiative was launched by the Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth, Inc., in partnership with the Martin County Redevelopment Commission. The Quick

Impact Façade Grant Program offers a one-to-one match for approved improvements, meaning the grant will match the amount spent by the applicant on exterior enhancements. There is no minimum project amount required, allowing flexibility for various scales of improvement.

The maximum grant amount is $4,000 per project. In total, $40,000 in grant funding will be available for the 2025 calendar year, supporting multiple projects.

Commercial building owners in the downtowns of Loogootee, Shoals and Crane can apply for funds to improve building facades. Deadline to apply is April 10.

Improvements to approved commercial buildings must be complete within six months.

Eligible activities include:

  • Masonry repair
  • Painting or cleaning to prepare for painting
  • Cornices, signage, entrances, doors or awnings
  • Work to restore original architecture
  • Window repair and replacement if part of a larger facade project
