BEDFORD – Community leaders and elected officials interested in learning more about economic development are invited to attend Radius Indiana’s Economic Development for Community Leaders conference, coming to the French Lick Resort Conference Center April 22-24.
Attendees at the two-and-a-half-day course will participate in educational sessions on topics including real estate development, population attraction programs, business retention and attraction, workforce, marketing, business finance and incentives, and community development and business district revitalization.
Speakers and panelists include representatives from local economic development organizations, site selection firms, housing development companies, and the defense industry who will share best practices and offer perspectives on local and regional economic strategies.
The course is open to community leaders and local and state officials who are interested in learning more about economic development.
“We are excited to once again offer our economic development course to our communities, and we welcome our neighbors from surrounding counties as well,” said Jeff Quyle, Radius Indiana president and CEO. “Our program features classic elements of economic development and introduces community leaders to new topics that can impact the growth and vitality of cities and towns. This year we will feature a new panel with defense industry experts, to learn about the emerging opportunities related to the expansion of defense in our area.”
Radius plans to make scholarships available from its own office as well as area utility partners for community members from the region who would like to participate in the program. Local Economic Development Organizations and those interested in attending are encouraged to contact the Radius Indiana office to learn more about scholarship opportunities in their area.
