Southern Indiana Business Report

ELLETTSVILLE — Building upon its learning, development and talent initiatives, Smithville named Kendall Glavash as the company’s new vice president of human resources. Coming to Smithville from a position as a senior organizational development consultant with Indiana University Health, Glavash joined the company in March as vice president of learning and development and talent.

“Kendall’s position in our company reflects Smithville’s commitment to our most valuable asset: our people,” said Darby McCarty, Smithville chairman and CEO. “Kendall brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in driving learning and development, which is expected to help our company improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.”

Glavash’s extensive experience includes partnering with senior leadership to build and implement enterprise-wide talent management strategies which will help advance system priorities and outcomes.

“Kendall will spearhead our efforts to cultivate a best-in-class Learning & Development and Talent program that aligns with our company’s strategic objectives and values,” said Paul Quick, president of Smithville. “This realignment underscores our unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, promoting safety, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.” As she leads both HR and Learning Development at Smithville, Glavash will serve on Quick’s leadership team.

“I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to helping elevate Smithville’s already high standards in creating and promoting opportunities for Smithville professionals,” said Glavash, who is a certified Professional in Human Resources and a Certified Professional of Talent Development.  “I firmly believe that an organization’s talented employees are their biggest resource, which means our company will naturally grow as our employees achieve and grow.”

Glavash said she will be supporting Smithville’s vision to create development opportunities for each employee, helping to ensure that Smithville employees will “have the skills and capabilities that they need to succeed.”

“I was drawn to the role because it gave me opportunity to return home and contribute to a community I deeply care about and a company I truly believe in,” she added. “Additionally, I’m excited to leverage my extensive experience in human resources to drive meaningful growth of our people and our business.”

While in a senior position at LILT, a national contextual AI platform provider that delivers multilingual, digital customer experiences at scale, Glavash established the company’s comprehensive learning and development strategy.  She has been recognized by the national Training magazine as a top professional and is broadly recognized for her work in leadership development, relationship building, and employee engagement.

A graduate of Indiana University, Glavash serves as a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations, including Gleaner’s Food Bank of Indiana, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement of Central Indiana, Second Helpings, the Indianapolis 500 Festival and Coburn Place Safe Haven.
