PAOLI – Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Steve Earle is coming to Castle Knoll Amphitheater Sept. 7.
Known as a master storyteller, his songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and many others. His 1986 release, Guitar Town, reached No. 1 on the country charts. Subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts…Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007) and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive Grammy Awards.
“Steve Earle is an iconic, multiple Grammy-award winning, legendary, American singer-songwriter,” said Heath Eric, promoter of the venue with The Eric Group. “We are happy to present an artist of his stature at Castle Knoll Amphitheater and highlight our commitment to offering a rich, diverse programming lineup. This will be an up-close, intimate experience on The Knoll with a living legend and one you do not want to miss.”
Presale tickets go on sale here Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. ET. To receive the password, ticket-buyers must sign up for the newsletter at CKAMP.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public (no password required) on Thursday at 9 a.m.
There are two tiers of tickets available: VIP general admission and Standard general admission. VIP seating includes access to the area closest to the stage. Standard is hillside/lawn seating. ADA seating is also available. Guests can bring small folding chairs and/or blankets into the venue, but seats are not provided. Please review the FAQ and Policies pages at CKAMP.com.
Earle, who was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, is also a published author, has produced albums for artists such as Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams and acted in films, TV and on stage.
The Steve Earle Alone Again Solo & Acoustic Tour starts at 7 p.m. Sept. 7, gates open at 5:30 p.m.
‘90s Dance Party Aug. 3
Vanilla Ice will headline a ‘90s Dance Party on The Knoll Aug. 3. Special guests C+C Music Factory and DJ MKC will also perform. Tickets went on sale earlier this month. VIP and standard general admission options are available.
“Vanilla Ice always brings the party,” said Heath Eric, venue promoter with The Eric Group. “This will be a night of non-stop moving, grooving, dancing, and singing along, just like we did back in the day. This is the ultimate house/dance party vibe – all about the ‘90s with two of the biggest acts from that era. We expect to see a large crowd on The Knoll.”
“This will be one of our biggest shows of our inaugural season,” said Audrey Brames, director of marketing for Big Splash Adventure Indoor Waterpark & Resort. Guests can reserve rooms or cabins at Big Splash Adventure or Wilstem Wildlife Park and make a weekend out of it. We’re hoping to fill up the Amphitheater with friends from all across the region.”
Robert Van Winkle, aka Vanilla Ice emerged on the rap/pop music scene in 1990-91 selling 10 million albums in four months and hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts with the No. 1 single “Ice Ice Baby” and number-one album positions. His worldwide album sales are over 15 million, and his individual songs total over 160 million and growing.
Castle Knoll Amphitheater, 4809 US 150 in Paoli, will ultimately have capacity for approximately 8,000 fans. This venue development project will create an opportunity to increase tourism in the market and the state of Indiana. The amphitheater will allow guests to view outdoor concerts, shows, and events on the grounds of this iconic Orange County landmark.
