French Lick Casino revenue up in June; fiscal year taxes show increase from previous year

FRENCH LICK – The French Lick Casino had adjusted gross revenue of $6.5 million in June, according to the latest Indiana Gaming Commission Summary of Wagering and Supplemental Tax released last week. 

The AGR is up about $500,000 from June 2022 when the casino’s AGR was $6 million, but down from May 2023 when the AGR was $6.88 million.  

The AGR for all the state’s casinos combined was $189 million in June. 

Turning to taxes, the casino paid $50,942 in sports tax and $3,615,621 in wagering tax for a total tax of $3,666,564 in June. 

In June 2022, with the resort open but cases of COVID still spreading, the casino numbers were quite different. A year ago, the casino paid $49,732 in sports tax, $721,173 in wagering tax for a total tax of  $770,905. 

The gaming fiscal year ends June 30.

The year-to-date tax paid by French Lick totaled $10,052,732 an increase of 79.6% over 2022 when the total year to date tax paid was $5,597,954.

The year to date total tax paid for all casinos in Indiana was $685,392,323.

The sports wagering totaled $6,230,018 in June at the Orange County resort casino. The casino’s sports wagering AGR was $536,237 and it paid a sports wagering tax of $50,942.

Statewide, the sports handle for June was $224,070,051; the AGR was $19,455,469 and the sports wagering tax paid by all state gaming sites was $1,848,270.
