Bedford awarded funding from OCRA for small business grants

BEDFORD – The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs released a round of COVID 19 grants for small businesses.

The city of Bedford was awarded $250,000 of COVID 19 Phase 3 supplemental funds.

The grants are to assist small businesses in retaining low- to moderate-income jobs.

According to information from the city of Bedford, eligible expenses include working capital, operations and to support remote work. Grant funds may not be used for capital improvement to buildings. Businesses with 100 or fewer employees located within the Bedford city limits are eligible. 

In 2021, the city also received funds to aid small businesses affected by COVID. The city disbursed $260,000 in grants of $2,500 to $10,000 to 38 businesses that met the criteria. 

Grant applications are available at Bedford City Hall or applicants can print from online. Applications are due by 4 p.m. April 26.
