Casino gaming revenue report released for November

FRENCH LICK – The latest numbers from the Indiana Gaming Commission Summary of Wagering and Supplemental Tax for November show the most recent revenue figures for the French Lick Casino and gaming sites around the state. 

The French Lick Casino’s adjusted gross receipts totaled $5,828,744 for November, down slightly from $6,080,805 reported in October. 

Reviewing the AGR November year-to-year, points to the casino returning to pre-COVID activity levels. In November 2021, the casino’s AGR was $5,506,601. In November 2020, nine months into the pandemic, the AGR was $3,756,718. The current AGR is a 55% increase from two years ago.

Looking at tax revenue from November, the French Lick Casino paid $466,300 in wagering taxes and $88,008 in sports wagering taxes bringing total gaming taxes for the month to $534,308, an increase of 27.8% from November 2021 when the total tax paid in sports and wagering taxes was $433,759. 

In October, wagering taxes totaled $229,000 and in September, wagering taxes were $594,783 – the highest of the past five months. 

To date, the 2022 gaming taxes paid totals $1,754,490, an increase of $678,750 from a year ago.

Sports betting at French Lick totaled $15,288,632 in November. 

State gaming sites

Turning to the state’s casinos, the combined AGR for all casinos in November was $184,380,623, which was on par with November 2021’s $184,246,945.

Sports wagering at the state’s sportsbooks totaled $452,318,954. Those bets generated $3.8 million in tax revenue and nearly $40 million in revenue for the gambling companies. 

Hoosier casinos recorded $196 million in total revenue for November, down slightly from $207 million the previous month, according to the state report. 

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary was the highest-earning casino with more than $35 million in revenue. Horseshoe Indianapolis and Horseshoe Hammond followed at $28 million and $26 million, respectively.

The year to date total for tax revenue from all the state’s casinos was $225,375,056.
