Local Brewery Wins Big at Indiana State Fair

Bloomfield, Indiana-based brewpub Feed Store Beer Company brought home a gold medal from the 2022 Indiana State Fair Brewers Cup competition for breweries and home brews.

The Horse & Lion, an English session mild beer from Feed Store, took top spot in the British Brown beer category, beating fifteen entries to be ranked as the top beer in the category.

“The Feed Store Beer Co. sent several beers to be judged in the Indiana Brewer’s Cup at the Indiana State Fair in July. This was our first entry into a beverage competition. While we expected to receive constructive responses on our entries, we were extremely excited to not only medal, but win GOLD!” commented Feed Store owners Steve and Stacey Corbin of Bloomfield.

British Brown is one of 24 categories of beer that are judged at the Indiana Brewers Cup competition, which relies on over 100 judges from around the country to help evaluate the beers that are entered into the competition.

While the Feed Store has subsequently sold out of the Horse & Lion at their Bloomfield taproom, they do plan to offer the beer again. In the meantime, the Corbins are quick to point out that they also offer 10 to 12 beers on draught at all times in their 750 W. Main Street location in Bloomfield. The Feed Store is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Feed Store is one of several local breweries located in the Radius region of southern Indiana.
