FRENCH LICK — French Lick Casino’s taxable adjusted gross revenue for October came in at $6,420,432, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission Summary of Wagering and Supplemental Tax. The figure is up $364,062, or 6%, from September, and it’s up $1,497,976, or 30%, from October 2020. While the amount is still down $451,241, or 7%, from where it was in pre-COVID October 2019, that gap is closing. Looking back, results had been off by 13% for September and 24% for August.

The October figure brings the running AGR total for the first four months of the current fiscal year up to $25,278,778. That number is up $5,678,559, or 29%, from where it stood this time one year ago. The running total is still off the mark from pre-COVID October 2019 by $3,926,004, or 13%. Looking back, that gap had been 15% for September and 17% for August.

Stepping back to take a look at the statewide numbers, the 13 properties around Indiana reported a combined October AGR total of $196,348,484. That figure is up $7,079,514, or 4%, from September. It’s also up $46,923,295, or 31%, from October 2020. Unlike French Lick, the statewide industry as a whole is actually doing better now than it was in pre-COVID 2019. The October figure is up $33,369,065, or 20%, from October 2019.

The statewide running AGR total for the first four months of the current fiscal year now stands at $788,168,588, which is up $170,046,689, or 29%, from where it was one year earlier. The figure is also up $120,257,434, or 18%, from where it was in October 2019.

Turning to taxes, French Lick Casino paid $108,851 in wagering tax and $80,276 in sports wagering tax for October, bringing the month’s total tax to $189,127. For the current fiscal year, total taxes amount to $641,981.

Statewide, tax totals for October are $44,356,233 for wagering tax, $2,629,889 for sports wagering tax, and $4,331,234 in the supplemental wagering tax collected at properties that had paid the old admission tax before it was abolished.
