INDIANAPOLIS — J.A. Benefits LLC was once again among top honorees at the Indiana Chamber of Commerce 2021 Best Places to Work in Indiana celebration May 6. The Bedford-based employee benefits company came in at the top of the list of small companies (15-74 U.S. employees).
JA Benefits led its category for the third year in a row. The firm was also recognized as one of only five companies with a Pinnacle designation — a status reserved for firms that have finished first in their category three or more times in a five-year period.
JA Benefits was one of 125 companies from across the state honored at the event, sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. Rankings for the organizations were revealed in four size categories at the event, which participants could attend virtually with their colleagues or join in person at the Indiana Convention Center.
Two other regional companies earning recognition in the small category were: in sixth place, TrueScripts, a prescription benefit management firm based in Washington; and Artisan Electronics of WestGate@Crane Technology Park.
Other top category winners were: American College of Education, a private, for-profit online college in Indianapolis – medium category (75-249 U.S. employees); Onebridge, a business intelligence and data analytics consulting firm headquartered in Indianapolis – large category (250-999 U.S. employees); and Microsoft, the technology giant with a local office in Indianapolis – major category (1,000 or more U.S. employees).
“It’s a pleasure to showcase these companies and the astounding examples they are setting as desirable workplace cultures in the face of all the unique challenges of the past year,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar. “They each serve not only their staffs and customers very well, but also their communities and the state’s economy. We applaud them for stepping up to the plate and continuing to shine in 2021.”
All companies that participated in the 2021 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. In turn, this report can be used in developing or enhancing employee retention and recruitment programs.
